September is Library Card Month

With a Library Card, Everyone Wins

Library cards are the passports to our imagination. With a library card in hand, anyone can travel to any location, any time period and become anyone. The Hancock County Library System is inviting you to sign up for your own library card. When you sign up for a library card, you will entered in a drawing to receive a library book bag with books and other goodies.

Crimefighting DC Super Heroes, the Teen Titans, will team up with the American Library Association (ALA) to promote the value of a library card as Library Card Sign-up Month Honorary Chairs. As honorary chairs, DC’s Teen Titans will remind parents, caregivers and students that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning.  A library card is a ticket to free educational resources and activities for students and their families. Library Card Sign-up Month is a time to bring attention to the supportive role libraries and librarians play in transforming lives and communities through education.
