Build A Better World is theme of Adult Summer Reading Program

Build A Better World is the theme for the Hancock County Library System’s Adult Summer Reading Program on Monday, August 7, at 5:30 p.m. at the Bay St. Louis-Hancock County Library. There will be special guest speakers, book suggestions and refreshments. The program runs through August 30. It is open to adults ages 18 and older. Related to the theme, just read one great book, then watch a meaningful movie or documentary, and attend one of the libraries informative programs to earn entries for prizes!

Preschool Story Hours begin August 7

For parents of children newborn to five years of age, our preschool story hours begin Monday, August 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the Waveland Public Library. Programs, all at 10:30 a.m., include storytelling, crafts and fun!

The Matinee in the Bay Movie will be held Thursday, August 10 at 2 p.m. at the Bay St. Louis-Hancock County Library. The movie is about, desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, three lifelong pals risk it all by embarking on a daring bid to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money. We will have lively and information by WWX25 meteorologist Ryan Mahan to find our why this particular eclipse is nicknamed The All-American Eclipse. Safe viewing glasses will be given to each attendee, along with safe viewing guidelines. They are also available at each of our five branches.

These monthly talks are co-sponsored by the Hancock County Library System and the Friends of the Hancock County Animal Shelter. Free gifts will be given to each attendee, and free spay-neuter vouches will be available for Hancock County owners.
